romana: terms of use

romana is free, open-source software made by DO IT MAGIC SOFTWARE SRL (Pitești, Romania, CUI 34288367) and published under the MIT license. These terms summarize what that means for anyone who installs the plugin, the skill or the romana binary, or uses the public MCP server at mcp.doitmagic.ro. Where they differ, the license text prevails.

  • License. You may use, copy, modify and distribute romana under the MIT license.
  • No account. The skill and the binary run inside the AI app you use, or on your computer. Nothing needs an account; see privacy policy for what each part sends and keeps.
  • The public MCP server. mcp.doitmagic.ro offers two read-only tools (verifica_greseli, cauta_regula) free of charge, to any AI assistant, within the limits it enforces (requests per second, concurrent requests, text size). It is provided on a best-effort basis, without any guarantee of availability, and can change, be limited or stop at any time. Do not use it to overload the server or for anything unlawful; requests that do may be blocked.
  • No warranty. romana is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Its rules follow the norms of the Romanian Academy, but the AI app that applies them can still make mistakes: review important texts before you publish them. DO IT MAGIC SOFTWARE is not liable for texts written, corrected or checked with romana.
  • Dictionary data. The optional binary downloads the official dexonline export, distributed under GPL v2+ and the terms of its sources. The database it builds stays on your computer, for your own use; do not redistribute it.
  • The AI app. The app you use romana in has its own terms, which apply as well.
  • Changes. These terms can change with new versions. The current text is always the one in this repository.

Pe scurt, în română: romana e software gratuit și open source, sub licența MIT, fără garanție, și nu cere cont. Serverul MCP public e gratuit pentru orice asistent AI, în limitele lui, fără garanție de disponibilitate. Verifică textele importante înainte să le publici. Baza de dicționar construită de binar rămâne pe calculatorul tău, pentru uzul tău, și nu se redistribuie.
